Business travelers choose their hotel according to these criteria: Top three are balanced breakfast, free WiFi and central location
Cologne, November 20, 2018 - Frequent sales people, conference attendees or creative freelancers: As varied as the motives for business trips are, the demands on a business trip are also varied. In a survey of professional travelers, HRS found out which factors are particularly important to them when choosing a hotel. The hotel portal took the preferences as an opportunity to put together a selection of exceptional houses that make a professional trip a special stay.
Balanced breakfast
What would a long working day be without a proper breakfast? 52 percent of business travelers like to start the day well saturated. In the Hollywood Media Hotel in Berlin, you dine in the "Bel Air" restaurant in the spirit of Hollywood, where a rich breakfast buffet is available. The Haus am Ku'damm has dedicated itself to the international stars and starlets of the film industry, as well as the screen classics, which can be found throughout the hotel. If you are traveling to Paris on business, you should take a look at the Vice Versa Hotel. The breakfast room is designed from pastel-colored cupcakes, in which you can feel your mouth watering as soon as you see it. Each room is designed differently: there are playful rooms decorated with butterflies, but also classically designed rooms with brick walls.
Free WIFI
Completing the presentation for the next day's meeting in the evening and sharing it with your colleagues? For 51 percent, free WiFi is a must on a business trip. In the age of digitization, not all hotels offer this service free of charge. For those who book through HRS, it is usually included free of charge - provided this service is available in the respective house. So also in the Hotel Backstage in Dresden. In addition, art lovers will get their money's worth here. The hotel offers the stage for young artists. Each room has been individually designed by a young talent and offers a pleasant space for concentrated work. Free WiFi is also offered at the Nhow Music Hotel and the hotel also impresses with its special ambience: musical instruments are on display throughout the hotel. In this relaxed atmosphere, business travelers can let their creative thoughts run free.
Central location and connection to public transport
46 percent of business travelers consider a hotel in a central location to be important, and 31 percent also ensure good access to public transport. The Hotel Henri in Hamburg scores with its location in the heart of the city. The close proximity to the Inner Alster is also a plus for stretching your legs after an inspiring meeting in the fresh air. If you have to make a professional appointment in Amsterdam, you should consider staying in The College Hotel, located in the fashion and museum district. The house is characterized by the student days, because it dates from the 19th century and housed a school from 1895.
Modern interior design and design
33 percent of business travelers consider modern interior design and 24 percent an appealing room design important. The Friends Hotel in Düsseldorf convinces both as a design and as a city hotel and lives up to its name. It offers guests a feel-good atmosphere like at home with friends, especially not to be underestimated after long business appointments. Whether in the 700m² lobby with the #Klassentreffen bar or in the individually designed rooms, a busy day can end comfortably here. In Hamburg's first design hotel Gastwerk, lovers of stylish industrial design get their money's worth. In the restored brick building, guests stay in modern, loft-style rooms.
Fitness and wellness offer
On business trips, at least 12 percent place value on a fitness studio or sports facilities and just as many on a wellness area. So why not end a demanding workshop with sport and wellness? This can be done at the end of the day at the Fire & Ice Hotel in Neuss near Düsseldorf. Here the house merges with the ski hall and, thanks to its alpine design, transports guests directly to a mountain region. The day can end comfortably in the sauna. The B2 Boutique Hotel + Spa in Zurich used to be a brewery and now captivates with its special spa area. The hotel has its own thermal bath with water from the Aqui source, which is deep underground in Zurich. Where the beer was once stored in oak barrels, large wooden tubs now invite you to the thermal bath.
For evaluation : HRS asked almost 1,000 business travelers what criteria are important to them when choosing a hotel. The data was collected in October 2017 .
