Mandarin Oriental arrives in the Balearic Islands with a refreshing breeze
Spanish-based Blasson Property Investments is developing a new luxury resort that includes a significant reconstruction and redesign of the former H10 Punta Negra hotel located on the Costa d’en Blanes in the southwest of Mallorca. Following the completion of the renovation, the hotel will be renamed Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca. The resort features 131 guest rooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows near the waterfront, all of which offer full or partial sea views and outdoor terraces. The resort has a wide range of cuisines at a variety of local and international restaurants, indoor and outdoor event spaces, and a garden that is suitable for wedding celebrations. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental will offer the group's signature wellness therapies and beauty treatments, with a focus on local nature-inspired programs. The resort's design is being created by HKS and Spanish architect practice Estudio Lamela, with Laura Gonzalez overseeing the interior design, featuring many local cultural references. The resort is being constructed with a strong sustainability ethos. The resort is expected to be a welcome complement to Mandarin Oriental's hotels in Barcelona and Madrid and is expected to expand the brand's presence into another important leisure destination in Europe.
Francisco J. Meliá of Blasson Property Investments said, "This is a rare opportunity to create a new hotel with such an iconic location in the beautiful island of Mallorca."
The opening of Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca will mark the first Mandarin Oriental property in the Balearic Islands, further expanding the brand's presence in southern Europe.
The hotel is expected to offer a range of activities, from watersports to exploring the island's natural beauty, providing guests with a unique and luxurious experience.
In addition to Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, the brand has several other projects underway in southern Europe, including the Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, Cortina, a refurbishment of an existing 83-key historic hotel in Italy, and the 99-room Mandarin Oriental Costa Navarino, set to open in Greece in June 2023.
As with all Mandarin Oriental properties, the brand's legendary service and attention to detail will be at the heart of the resort's offering, ensuring guests enjoy a truly unforgettable experience.
