This is how talent promotion goes right! Siegard Lackinger wins the trainee contest of the selection of German luxury hotels!
Fuschl near Salzburg, October 17, 2018 - The selection of German luxury hotels has placed great emphasis on promoting talent for years. The annual trainee contests are the benchmark for the principle of challenging and promoting. The outstanding young talents in the finals are challenged with tricky tasks and rewarded with a very comfortable supporting program and highly attractive prices. At this year's finale at Schloss Fuschl Resort & Spa near Salzburg, Siegard Lackinger, aspiring hotel specialist in the second year of apprenticeship, won out of the host company. Second place went to Franziska Gnad, who is also being trained as a hotel specialist in the third year of her apprenticeship at the Brenners Park Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden. Third place went to Sofie Engel from Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf, who is in her third year of training as a hotel manager.

The trainee contest asks for practical and theoretical knowledge that the junior staff need in their day-to-day work. For example, the participants had to answer a written text with various questions about the association, but also general knowledge, prepare a coffee specialty, fold napkins and sew a button. Of course, this year, too, the traditional blind tasting was not missing, for example chervil or turmeric had to be identified. The creativity and imagination of the participants were also in demand: In keeping with the time of year, a decorative arrangement with autumn flowers and pumpkin had to be arranged this time. As always, the end was a joint task of all seven trainees; In a short sketch they designed themselves, they gave an insight into the future in which robots replaced the human employees in the hotel.
The competition was all about training and further education: in addition to overnight stays in the member houses of the association, the first three places were awarded vouchers worth 500 to 3,000 euros for further training courses of the renowned IST study institute in Düsseldorf.
