fiylo starts the next digital revolution in event bookings
New MICE Live booking portal will start in 2018 - backend development with MICE access in the final phase - decisive course for further levels of digitization
Berlin / Hamburg, August 31, 2018 -
These days, the decisive course is being set: fiylo is launching a new booking portal before the end of the year, from which non-standardizable events can also be booked live. This closes another digital gap in the MICE business. Together with MICE access, the IT partner from Norderstedt near Hamburg, the most important search criteria have now been determined with selected location providers. Workshops were held in Berlin and Hamburg with lively participation.

"It quickly became clear to everyone involved that we are in the decisive phase and will have a strong impact on the next challenges in digitization," summed up Bernd Fritzges, managing partner of fiylo International. The renowned MICE manager is considered one of the driving forces behind digitization in the multi-billion dollar business with meetings, incentives, conferences and events. As chairman of the board of the influential Association of German Event Organizers (VDVO), Fritzges is also committed to the gradual digitization of MICE bookings with verve and skill.
Bookings of conference areas and locations for clearly defined criteria such as 15 conference guests and corresponding catering and provision of technical services such as projectors, screens, flipcharts and WiFi access have long been standardized and can be seamlessly represented in live booking booking portals. Booking locations, for example at fiylo, are also established milestones in MICE digitization. Now non-standardizable events such as complex company events with several event parts, special events such as car presentations, private celebrations such as weddings and anniversaries and others should also be made available online. The most important basic criteria and booking characteristics were developed in two workshops. "As much as necessary, but as little as possible", according to fiylo top manager Bernd Fritzges. Squaring the circle? "We will soon automate the quoting of a complex event request with reliable data", Fritzges is convinced.
On the one hand, the booking process will be completely reorganized, on the other hand, the number and depth of location provider data will be increased considerably. The event request is then started using a new query tool at www.fiylo.de. The answer in seconds can be done from the MICE access system. "This will considerably reduce the time-consuming and time-consuming manual answering of event inquiries to date," predicts Fritzges. In addition, the marketing presence and international reach of the location providers are to be massively expanded.
The most important criteria of a non-standard event request include:
- kind of event
- Process / timing
- Number of guests / participants
- Required areas / rooms
- Seating / Equipment
- Required technology
- Budget (optional)
- contact details
This contrasts with central offer criteria such as
- Room costs & additional costs
- Provision of technology & equipment
- required personnel
- Quantity of catering (if necessary externally)
- Effort for supporting program
- Flat-rate expenses for cleaning, logistics etc.
Fiylo displays important framework data such as a meaningful photo gallery, service overview, price list of additional costs, FAQ and general terms and conditions in the location profile in two languages.
"Another interesting rationalization effect will bring digitization with it", Fritzges sums it up. The optimization, i.e. the reservation of space for a certain period, will not be necessary with Live Booking. What has often caused irritation and misunderstandings in the MICE industry in the past is becoming obsolete due to the automated quotation of even complex event planning.
